Q: For a mom with 2 kids, would you buy a used honda pilot, or a new, crossover suv?
A 3 year old honda pilot with roughly 35K miles on it and TONS of room? Or a brand new, smaller, CUV such as the Rav4, CR-V, or Forester?
A: I like forester alot
Q: used 2005 Honda Pilot?
How much should a used 2005 Honda Pilot cost? Let’s say with like 120,000 miles on it. I know what a dealership would charge but what is the worth of a car with those specifications?
A: Well, what it is actually worth and what a dealership sells it for is never correct. They dealerships have a tendency to overcharge… check http://www.kbb.com/

Q: I bought a used 05 Honda pilot EX but I m not sure if its All-wheel drive or not?
but there is a button called VTM-4 on the dash, is this have to do anything with the AWD system. Anybody know what that is and how it works? I press it in and nothing happen. I don’t have a car manual.
Thank you,
A: If you have a VTM-4 button then your Pilot is All wheel Drive. The VTM-4 button is only to be used in 1-2 gear and it locks all 4 wheels together so you can go through heavy snow, mud sludge offraoding slowly. never use VTM-4 at a high rate of speed. Otherthan that you vehicle is always in all wheel drive.
Q: Can I put nice Nav/XM/Cam in a used 2005 Honda Pilot?
I have a 2005 Honda Pilot (I am the original owner) and it came with the stock stereo – which at the time was just AM/FM with a CD player. For years I had one of those Roady2 XM units that used the FM transmitter.
Over time, the Roady gave me problems so I finally went to a car audio installer and asked about 3rd party options. In the end, I was unhappy with the experience. I ended up with a $150 radio installed that was XM compatible, that needed an XM radio adapter.
The audio installer made me feel like it was one of the only options I had. I wanted something with 5 lines of display (this has only one … which is torturous). I also wanted one where I could scroll through channels to see what was playing on other stations without leaving my current station (could do with this with the Roady, cannot do this with the new stereo unit). He ended up selling me on this Kenwood model (Kenwood MP342U), and I was simply settling at that point because it seemed like there were no decent options in his store. The thing is very far from being user friendly. I am a computer programmer so it took only a little time to figure it out, but it’s poorly designed and hard to use. My wife, for example, hates the thing so much that she just switches to FM radio when she drives my car because she can’t figure out how to use it (and she likes XM and had no issues with the Roady2).
The thing is, I am turning this car over to my wife. We both love the car, but hate the radio (and it’s simplicity). I would love it to have a nice stereo that is XM-ready and user-friendly. I would also love to see if I could have a back-up camera installed, but I fear these are expensive.
There also seems to be a real lack of car audio installation places near me that I could go to with questions, outside of this one guy who I think did a mediocre job (I had to go back twice because it wasn’t working properly – one time was the fuse, another time the radio reset itself and had to be disconnected from all power sources to be fixed). That is why I am turning to Yahoo Answers, in hope some people can point me in the right direction.
I never thought I would say that I miss my dirt cheap $99 roady2 … I thought that was annoying, but it was gold compared to this scenario.
RepNChicago: This looks pretty solid all around, especially like the iPod connectivity, but it seems to be missing XM?
A: This unit has all the options your looking for and it will fit your Honda Pilot.

Q: Used Volvo XC 90 vs Used/New Honda Pilot?
I am looking to buy a safe mid-size SUV.
I am looking at the Volvo XC90 or the Honda Pilot.
For the XC90 I am looking at a XC90 2004 2.5t.
For the Pilot I am looking at a 2004,2005 pilot.
Which car is better and which will be safer and more reliable?
A: The Volvo is extremely safe and reliable, the seats are amazing in the car. The Pilot is a car that people just settle for and nothing is really outstanding about it other than reliability. I would go for the Volvo because it is just a great car in general, have you even thought of the BMW X5, it is faster and build quality is stellar. They are the most reliable in its class and it is on a completely different level than the others…
Q: Should I buy a 2006 Honda Pilot with 75,00 miles?
Should I buy a used Honda Pilot 2006 for 15,995 with 75,00miles? It appears to be in great shape.
A: it’s mileage is high that’s a $1,500 deduction
it’s worth closer to $14,000 not $16,000
Q: how much gas does the 2009 Honda pilot use?
for those who have a 2009 Honda pilot 4 wheel drive edition how much does it cost for a full tank of gas? at a rate of 90 cents a liter
how fast does the gas get used up? I live in Canada so please use the correct units
A: EPA Fuel Economy Est – City (MPG) 16 which is 6.80 kpl
EPA Fuel Economy Est – Hwy (MPG) 22 which is 9.35 kpl
Fuel Tank Capacity, Approx (gal) 21.0 which is 80 liters
Or another way of looking at it:
urban (L/100km)13.1
country/highway (L/100km)9.1
combined (L/100km)11.3
If the tank was completely empty 80 liters at 90 cents a liter would cost $72.00
Q: How’s the Honda Pilot?
We’re thinking of getting a new or slightly used Honda Pilot, and I was just wondering what people thought of it…
A: its nice, my mom had one and my friends mom still has one, they are cool and are nice inside
Q: How much does it cost to put a factory backup camera on a 2004 Honda Pilot with a navigation system?
Honda used to tell you on the website, but the new Pilots have standard backup camera’s so they aren’t an accessory anymore. I’m looking for an exact price. If not, an educated approximation would be great. Thanks.
A: It was not offered in that year sorry no software no camera
Q: Which is the better used vehicle for me, the Honda Pilot or Toyota 4Runner?
I travel alot on the highway to cottage country, towing a 18′ boat, and travel on poorer roads (not off road).
A: Toyota 4Runner V8 for towing, definitely. The Honda Pilot is really a modified Odyssey. It is designed to tow 4500 pounds but that’s the limit. And if I know my boats well enough, between the 500-1000 pound hitch and your boat, that’s cutting it pretty close. The V8 4Runner is the only engine to consider, as the V6 is underpowered and prone to sludge problems. The V8 can tow up to 7300 pounds, the V6 up to 5000. Just beware of rust in later years. I’ve seen a lot of mid-90s 4Runners with rust around the trailer hitch.
Q: I just got a 05 Honda pilot anyone know the MPG?
I GOT A USED 05 HONDA PILOT. I love it and its a small suv that seats 8. It has a V6 anyone know the actual city and freeway miles p g …..
A: I also have a 2005 Honda Pilot I get around 15 miles in the city.
Q: The Honda Pilot, I need opinions/thoughts/concerns?
I’m thinking about purchasing a certified used pilot from a honda dealership. If you own one or have even driven one, please fill me on advantages/disadvantages/problems/benefits/opinions.. Anything really.
Especially if you have had an major problem/fixes, cost/what went wrong would be appreciated.
Please no comments about ‘gas guzzlers.’ I need an SUV for work purposes.
THANK YOU
A: My daughter has an Acura MDX that is the same model as the Pilot. You need to be braced for 11-15 MPG in city driving. Great car but horrible mileage.
Q: Automatic Window in Honda Pilot?
I just bought a used Honda Pilot and something is wrong with the drivers side window. If you push the window button down 2 clicks then let go its supposed to go all the way down without holding it. Same with it going up. But it doesn’t. The window works fine when you continuously hold the button down so its obviously not a huge deal but I was just wondering what could have happened that would not make it go up or down automatically anymore? (And yes I know I am doing it right…I read the manual)
A: My Pilot did this after the battery went dead. Do this it worked on mine,
Start the engine, roll the drivers window down all the way, roll it all the way back up and continue holding the switch up for 2-3 seconds, then
release it. That should reset the automatic window. You can find this information in your manual, it is on the next page after the description of the power windows. It was page 100 in my manual.
Q: How can I get more miles per gallon from my Honda Pilot?
Hey guys,
I drive a 2003 Honda Pilot 4WD EX-L (used to drive RAV4, but dad made me switch!) This thing basically weighs as much as a dead whale and handles like one, but my biggest complaint with this 5000lb behemoth is its poor gas mileage. My dad expects me to pay for gas, and I really don’t wanna start shelling $50+ everytime I gas up (I really put on the miles, driving to school and back, work, etc. Gas prices are above $3.15 in Connecticut). I drive conservatively (don’t want a ticket), yet the gas mileage leaves much to be desired.
Is there anything else I can do for more miles from my Pilot?
In case you’re wondering, no, I can’t trade it in for something for fuel-efficient.
A: Stop going hoggin and bringing home fat chicks.
