Does a 2010 Honda Pilot have a timing belt or a timing chain?

Thanks for any answers.

A: The 2010 Pilot has a timing belt.

Q: What should be MSRP for Honda Pilot 2010 Touring 2WD Automatic with Nav?
My husband and I are looking to buy Honda Pilot 2010 Touring 2WD AT with Nav. How much should we pay for this car?

A: Do yourself a favor. Skip the factory Nav system. It is way too expensive. You can get a really good GPS/Nav from Best Buy for under $300. It goes wherever you go instead of being fixed to the car (A huge benefit if you travel). Plus when you buy the factory nav, you are paying interest on top of it. That cute littl opetion will cost you $2k before you know what hit you.

Q: 2010 Honda Pilot: How do I program the garage door opener buttons that are on the overhead display?

Q: Does my Honda 2010 Pilot need an oil change?
I have driven my Pilot 7500 miles and the cars computer has not told me I need an oil change. I know most cars are recommended at around 3000 miles. However, Honda told me when I bought the car to just wait and the computer on the dash will say you need an oil change. Anyone know for sure?

A: There haven’t been any manufacturers in the past 35 years that have recommended 3,000 mile oil changes in their service manuals. It’s a waste of natural resources. Today’s motor oil is better than it has ever been. Motors run cleaner, hotter and more efficiently with less fuel dilution in the oil. They’re built with tighter tolerances so as not to waste fuel.

Apparently Honda is getting on-board with the use of oil use percentage monitors similar to what GM has had for over 10 years. Depending on your type of driving (in-town or highway) increases (highway) or decreases (town) the usable life of the oil. You can get more actual mileage using an oil life monitor by switching to a full synthetic motor oil. It’ll prove it automatically

It’s easy for people to express their opinions conserning oil changes as they think they know more than the people who built the motors. Motor oil has absolutely nothing to do with transmissions either!

Q: Does anyone know if the 2010 Honda Pilot audio system lets you plug in an iPod?
I don’t want to have to buy additional audio equipment, but I’d sure like to use my iPod in the car.

A: On the 2010 Pilots there is an optional ipod interface that alows you to hook your ipod up directly to the stereo without any aftermarket accesories. This is only availible on the touring models i belive but you may be able to request one to be installed on another model of Pilot.

Q: How do I reset the lock on the door of my Honda Pilot 2010?
Opened the door of the rear passenger side and went to close it and it would not close. I noticed the white locking mechanism in the latch is closed and will not open preventing the door from closing. Any idea how to reset this? Thanks!
Awesome! That worked, I held the handled out and used a screw driver to pop open the white plastic latching mechanism that enabled the door to close normally. Thanks a million!

A: Use the handle at the same time as you are pushing on the latch to get it opened.

Q: 2010 honda pilot EX OR EX-L?
I’M WONDERING ABOUT GETTING THE 2010 HONDA PILOT. bUT I DONT KNOW WHEATHER TO GET THE EX OR THE EX-L. WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE EX AND THE EX-L.

A: Good choice on the Honda Pilot. That SUV will last you a long time with no problems. Back on which kind, I would get the EX-L. Its is pretty much the EX but with a little more features. I attatched links to both vehicles with all the information on both vehicles down to what size wheels they have to their engines. Good Luck with the purchase! :)

Q: 2010 Honda Pilot EX-L?
is $31800 + TTL a good deal for 2010 Honda Pilot EX-L “no entermainte”
and give me advice how much do you think it will be a good deal?

Thanks

A: In my area it would be a great deal. It is about $1000 below what I could offer if you were contacting me.

If this is pricing on a 4wd then it is an even better deal.

Best of luck in your Pilot search!

Q: 2010 honda pilot and additech question?
I have a 2010 honda pilot and i used it in trailing a 6′x12′ trailer. After using it for trailing, i noticed that it reaches 4500rpm if i go from 0-45 in full throttle and 2500rpm in half throttle. Is this normal for a 4000+ mileage honda pilot to reach that certain rpm when hitting the gas pedal that hard? And also, can i use an additech on it because i heard that it helps for better mileage. Should i go to honda service center with this concern?
It becomes rough when it reaches 3000rpm and above, high rpm makes a noise i know but is this normal?

A: high-octane one should use and do not put gasoline additives

Q: which is better — 2010 honda oddysey or 2010 honda pilot for new car purchase?
i just need spacious interior and leather seats. Which of the 2 would be more affordable or are they around same price? if around same price, which is better choice? i’m lookin for SUV or minivan. it doesn’t really matter what company it is but i heard a lot of praise about honda

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com

Q: how much will a 2009 honda pilot sell for in 2010?
I want to buy a new body style, 2009 Honda Pilot but obviously it would be nice to pay a bit less when the 2010 models come out. Can anyone give me a rough estimate of how much depreciation they will have here in the next few months as the ‘10 models roll out?

A: If you want a used 2009 in 2010 check the prices of what a used 2008 is selling for now.

The percentage of depreciation shouldn’t be that much different next year.

You can also check Edmunds.com “True Cost to Own” matrix. They will tell you exactly how much value a 2009 Pilot will lose after one year.

Generally that figure is around 8% to 11%

Q: 2010 honda pilot rear window wiper only wipes twice. is that normal?
i recently bought a 20101 honda pilot. when i was driving, i noticed something when i was using the rear window wipers. when i turn it on, it only swipes twice then it stops even if i don’t turn it off. when it stops it doesn’t even go back to where it should be. it does not fully go down (you know how honda pilot has that thing for rear window wipers? it has like some rubber thing on the wiper when you turn it off it goes down and fit into the..other rubber thing? ) it goes back all the way down only when i turn it off. is that normal? or is there defects?

A: That is normal , but u can look at the owner manual or take it to the dealer for (peace of mind). This is how it works ; Rear window wiper switch ON: The wiper operates every 7 seconds after completing two sweeps.Rear window wiper switch OFF: The wiper returns to the park position, that’s the rubber thing.Rear window wiper switch ON: The wiper operates continuously while the washer switch is ON.Rear window wiper switch OFF: After switching OFF the washer switch, the wiper returns to the park position after completing two sweeps.U have 2 positions on that wiper, return and park. On return the wiper will stay at the Glass so it can be ready to sweep again or park were It goes back to that rubber thing so u can open the hatch Glass. Hope this helps, Good luck!

Q: MY 2010 Honda Pilot BACK WIND SHIELD WINDOW BLOW UP ON ME!!!!?
I JUST BOUGHT IT FOR 3 WEEKS AGO, DOES THIS HAPPEN TO ANYONE?

A: If this happened by itself/ due to poor quality, Honda will be able to replace your window for free under warranty. If you did something to cause this, Honda will make you pay.

Q: 2010 Honda Pilot Touring or 2010 Mazda CX-9 Touring?

A: I would go with Mazda, a lot more fun to drive and it doesn’t feel like a full size SUV, compared with Honda Pilot.
