Q: What is the song and/or singer for the new Chevrolet Equinox commercial with kids on scavenger hunt?
I really like the song, it is a female singer.

A: The song from the Chevy Equinox commercial is “Anywhere Anytime” by Sara Melson.

You can check out a video of the commercial and listen to the song at the link below:

Q: Does the new 2010 Cadillac SRX share its platform with the new 2010 Chevrolet Equinox?
I happened to see an ad on the new 2010 Cadillac SRX, and the air vents look like those on the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox.

A: Nick is absolutely right they all share the same platform with much much noticeable differences. I’ve also heard that Buick will get a CUV on the same platform but it will have the Voltec system.

Q: How much will the new 2008/2009/2010 chevrolet equinox HYBRID be ?
i don’t care whether its LS or LT or LTZ i just want a neighborhood price if anyone knows because the dealer doesn’t have a number yet

A: $27,000

Q: How Much extra Does Leather Cost In the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox?
I am Getting a 2010 Chevy Equinox when they come out next month and I am wondering how much extra leather will cost! Because Chvey/GM even though I love them do not have very nice cloth seats and I dont know what the cloth seats look like in the new equinox!

A: to get leather you have to get a higher package so that can cost a bit. You could add leather that costs $1000 for a dealer to install leather.

Q: Why is my Chevrolet Equinox having starting problems with new stereo?
I have a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox. I have installed a Pioneer AVIC-F90BT with a Scosche Chime Interface. To get ACC (accessory) power to both, I jumped them into the heated seats fuse. When I try to start the car, nothing. No crank, noise, or anything.
If I disconnect them again, the car starts. What relation does a circuit for seat heaters have with the ignition system? Is there a better place to tie the ACC wires into? Thanks a lot.

A second question is for anybody on Equinoxcentral.com. I have tried registering there a few times and always get a confirmation e-mail, but cannot sign in. I have sent e-mails to the help address, but have never received a response. This has been going on for months. If anyone is registered there, could you please contact an admin for me? Thanks so much.
The Scosche interface is a DCGM16B and the instructions do appear to say it needs to connect to 12-volt ACC.

A: Which Scosche interface are you using? Most of them don’t require an accessory power connection; you just have to connect them to constant voltage and they’ll produce a 12V RAP output to use for the radio accessory input.

If you’re somehow connecting 12 volts to a data wire in the radio harness, that could certainly be causing your problem.

Edit: I took a look at the instructions for this adapter, and I think you may be reading them incorrectly. The only accessory wire on the module is an output, not an input; it’s meant to be connected to the red wire on your after-market head unit. (There’s a relay diagram that’s not required unless your after-market deck or other accessories require more than 2 amps of current. It wouldn’t be necessary to supply the accessory input of most after-market head units). No connection to a vehicle accessory circuit is required. The module generates its own 12v accessory output, by reading and interpreting the vehicle data bus signal.

I’d remove the connection to your heated seat fuse. The only thing connected to the red wire from the module should be the red wire from the head unit. It’s possible that the accessory voltage is causing problems with the module. If disconnecting your extra wiring doesn’t solve it, you’ll probably need to replace the adapter.

Since the Scosche adapter communicates with your vehicle’s computer system through the data bus connection at the radio, a malfunctioning adapter module could certainly cause problems with other vehicle systems–including the Passlock anti-theft system, which would prevent your car from starting.

Q: 2005 Chevrolet Equinox not starting correctly. I have already eliminated the need for a new battery.?
My 2005 Equinox has a strange starting problem. Sometimes, not always, when you turn the key the starter engages but never cranks the car. Most of the times it starts on the second or third crank but it once took seven turns of the key to get it started. The problem is not consistant with the engine temp or outside weather. The lease runs out next month but since it is over the miles it is out of warranty. We were considering buying the car until now. Any advise would be appreciated. I have already checked the battery and connections… what next?

A: Sound like the starter solenoid on the starter. Its a mechanism the engages the starter onto the fly wheel . I don’t know for sure, but you might be able to replace only the solenoid. A new starter runs around $120. It could just be a loose wire on the starter. Have your favorite mechanic look at it. It’s not a real expensive repair. It will be expensive if you get stranded and have to have it towed.

Q: 2005 Chevrolet Equinox LS missing gas cap?
I drive a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox LS. Recently my gas cap was stolen (???) I have been to a scrap yard to try and find a new one and only found a more recent model LT. Will this gas cap work in my car and turn off my engine light? This gas cap has the ability to lock and my one before didnt… does that make a difference?

A: Just go to an auto parts store and buy one for your vehicle. Locking or non-locking, the choice is yours. Autozone has the non-locking ones for $12 and the locking caps for $17.

Q: Carmax is offering a 2008 chevrolet equinox Ls with 27k miles for 19,000 total price. Is there any way I can..?
get a new SUV for that price? I feel like 20k is a lot for a used car. I went to a chevrolet dealership and showed them the carmax offer. They “tried” to work something out but I was told it’d be 32k after all was said and done. goodness! the base price was 26,000, it was the only chevrolet equinox they had available.any suggestions?

A: Check out Saturn, they have the same base vehicle available but it doesn’t cost as much.
Hope this helps. Christopher

Q: Fuel ratings of the jeep compass and chevy equinox?
My sister has a jeep compass which she is currently leasing, what my concern is she says it gets horrible gas mileage for a small Fuel efficient suv and thought it would be better on gas as she was told . she barley does any driving just a 5 to 8 minute drive from home to work and the odd local store ect which are not far away. I told her about the new 2010 chevrolet equinox but I thinking it might be harder on gas then the jeep or would it be a little lighter then the jeep ? if any one who knows the fuel rating for each vehical please throw me an answer. And if anyone owns a compass and has the same problem please let me know

A: Five to eight miles to work will not even get the engine warmed up, and if the engine is allowed to warm up it sure will ruin the MPG. My Dad does about the same thing to a Subaru and ends up with 15 mpg.
But to the question
Equinox 22/34
Compass 23/28

Q: How can you trade down your vehicle for a new one with a c heaper truck payment?
I have a 2004 gmc envoy and I want to trade it for a smaller truck say a Ford Edge or Chevrolet Equinox and I need my payments to be lower than they are now.How do I go about this?

A: For starters, unless you have money down-or unless your car is worth more than what you owe…its pretty hard to lower payments.

You need to get a couple of appraisals done from different places and see where you stand there first…that way you know how much negative equity (if any) you are woking with.

The market on what you have is horrible right now…so it may be best to hold out for a little while before you trade…or just try to sell it privately then buy a different vehicle.

Good Luck either way!

Q: 2007 Chevrolet Equinox tire pressure monitor problem after rim switch?
I’ve just switched over to winter tires (exact same size as original Bridgestone Duelers) on a new set of winter rims. The tire pressure monitoring system alerted me that there was a problem: it couldn’t read the new tire pressures. I initiated the “learn” feature, but to no avail. Is there a way to “introduce” the system to the new rims/tires, or is there a sensor in the original rims that the system can’t work without? I can’t be the first person who’s switched to winter tires/rims…

Any help would b greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

w

A: sounds like you don’t have sensors in winter wheels there’s a sensor in each rim of summer rims

Q: LOW LOW price New Car dealerships?
I am going to trade in my vehicle for a new one – i bought it new. It is in good – excellent condition.. It is a 2004 Chevrolet Impala with 37000 miles. I have an excess amount in my GMAC loan that i will have to roll over by about $4,000..00 My question is: NEW CAR DEARSHIP ADS IN SUNDAY PAPERS. A “few” of the big name dealerships run full page “SPLASHY” ads in the Sunday auto sections. They advertise new vehicles well below the cost for the same s at their other local franchises. For instance One dealer has NEW 2006 Chevrolet Silverados (Not a misprint) for $9600.00, 2006 New Impalas for $15,000.00, New 2006 Equinox for $19,000.00 There are only a few dealers that offer these prices for my . They are in Outlying are locations. On the phone the dealer tells me the ad prices ARE within the range advertised. I have to get my ROLLOVER balance down without getting into a lesser .

A: Why in the hell would you trade? Financing negative equity, in otherwords PAYING INTEREST ON A LOAN BALANCE FOR A CAR YOU NO LONGER OWN is about the worst thing you can do financially. What do you think is going to happen in 2 or 3 years when you want another new car?

Q: I’m looking for a car…suggestions?
My dad just got in an accident with a deer and is looking at vehicles. He is 6′ 4″ so height and other room is a consideration, and a lot of cars have a sloping roof that block his vision, so large cars, CUV’s and SUV’s are his only options, preferably a crossover since he wants room and decent mileage. He’s looking at new and recent vehicles with a ~$20,000 cap, but the cheaper still the better. He likes the Jeep Compass and Patriot but hasn’t tested them yet. I recommended they spend a bit more for the new Chevrolet Equinox. Any other ideas?

A: i’m 6′4” also and the equinox we own has plenty of headroom and the seat has a height adjustment. he might want to look into a used one 2005-newer

Q: What kind of car do you have and or drive?
we just bought the new 2010 chevrolet equinox :) i LOVE it

A: What a cool car! :D

I have/drive a ‘88 Honda Prelude :)

Q: how much did you pay for a 2006 hyundai tuscon?
in albany new york, also considering a Jeep Compass or Pontiac Torrent or Chevrolet Equinox

A: Torrent and Equinox get Suburban gas numbers. And Phantom, Hyundai’s have grown in popularity and made astounding advancements in their reliability and quality. The Tucson would not be a bad pick at all, but there are other options available to suit your specific needs.

If you’re looking for just a commuter SUV, the new re-designed Rav4 is beautiful and a gas miser (compared to other SUV’s). The Ford Escape Hybrid gets economy car mileage but has a bad rollover rating. The Honda Element definitely gets the nod in the versatility category and the FJ Cruiser/ Nissan Xterra is your choice if you’re looking into off-roading.
