Q: Used Car insurance cost?
If i buy a 2010 ford escape used will insurance be any cheaper than if i buy it new, considering im 25 and have a clean driving record

A: Several methods you may think about.Like call your local insurance agent or do some researches on the internet,you should get the idea.

Q: Jeep Liberty or Ford Escape?
I am looking for my first car and I am getting a used one. So it will be around 2005ish-2007. I LOVE the 2002 Jeep Liberty but my mom said that is to old to get and my dad says all jeeps are dangerous. So I started looking at the Ford Escape and I love the 2010 one but I know I can't get that. So baiscily I was looking for reviews on these cars and if you have one tell me what year and if you like it or not! THANKS!

A: I am an avid reader and subscriber to Consumer Reports. They have the Ford Escape as an overall good and reliable vehicle from 2004-2010. The jeep Liberty however is on their list of vehicles you should avoid buying because of the overall maintenance issues and low reliability. Hope this helps you in your decision.

Q: 2010 f150 esof problem?
I've just bought my new 2010 ford f150 with electronic shift on the fly.

When I try to engage 4wd hi,it has weired noise come from under the cab and grinding sound from the wheel. even after the use of 4wd hi, switch out to 2wd, the grinding sound is still there.this is my first half ton truck,please help!! I used to have a escape with all wheel drive. but I thoug awd is not as good as a true 4wd when got stuck in snow.please help!

A: As another fellow said, be sure you are operating it correctly. If operating correctly, and veh still makes grinding noise, make appointment with dealer to have checked. The grinding sound is not normal, it makes this sound when front axle is trying to engage the front wheels, or not engaging/disengaging fully. The cause can be a few different things, from faulty solenoid to vacuum leak. Fixing the problem should be easy, finding the true cause and then ordering parts may take a little time, reasonably 2 days. so expect to make arrangements for something else to drive. The dealer should be able to help you with this. Hope this answer helps.

Q: My parents are buying a new car, need help with suggestions?
so we used to have a Honda odyssey 2000, it lasted us a good 11 years with no major problems until now with the engine dying. So i was wondering if you guys know any good cars similiar to a van or suv that is also good quality for its price. My dad is considering the Ford escape 2010, it costs roughly 24000, Im not too excited with american ford and its quality but after looking at fords website it looks alright for its price.

Do you guys know any similar vehicles that might be better than ford escape for roughly same amount? It has to be sorta a crossover or van like vehicle as my dad needs the extra space to carry stuff now and then. No trucks please. Thanks

A: why not another Odyssey

Q: Same engine, same fuel capabilities?
The 2010 Ford Fusion 3.0L V6 is a FlexFuel engine. On regular gas, it is 240hp. I have a 2009 Ford Escape XLT 4x4 V6 with the similar 3.0L V6 (240hp). Question is... can I use E85 in my car too?

A: You can use the E85 only if it specifically states that your Escape is compatible with the fuel. Just because it is the same motor doesn't mean that it will run on it. There is more to it, such as extra programming in the engine computer to adjust timing and other parameters to run the E85.

Q: Whats the difference in price?
My husband is looking to buy either the new Ford Escape Hybrid or just the regular For Escape (2010). Well the hybrid is about 14k more than the regular and we are trying to figure out how much more money would be saved/spent by going with which ever vehicle (in terms of using gas). We figure that we would be putting 100 miles on the vehicle each day, and also the hybrid gets 32 miles to the gallon and the regular one gets 22 miles to the gallon. And also that we only expect to keep it for the time of the warranty which is 7 years. So if someone could figure out the price difference at the end of the 7 years of filling up with gas once each day when they are compared to one another.

A: You wouldn't save enough to be worth it!!!

Hybrids are too new to be cost effective, right now they cater to the eco-nut market

Q: Starting the new car hunt: Which practical wagon/CUV would you choose?
My wife's car, a 2004 Nissan Sentra 1.8 automatic, has started having a few quirks that make us uneasy. With 100,000 miles on the odometer and the car nearly paid-off, we're thinking very seriously about starting the hunt for a new car now, before any big issues rear their ugly head. She has about 65 miles of commute everyday, and we work different shifts (she's on second shift, I'm on first) in different towns, so she really needs something dependable. Plus I don't want to spend weekends working on her car, as I increasingly find myself, instead of spending time with her.

We've been making a list of possible candidates that we want to whittle down over the next year or so. With that said, bear in mind we'll probably be looking at lightly used or "program" cars that are a year or two old, and we won't be doing any serious shopping until late 2010-early 2011. Here's our list of cars to check out so far:

* Ford Escape (2.5 four-cylinder, front-wheel drive, automatic transmission)
* Chevy Equinox (2.4 four-cylinder, front-wheel drive, automatic transmission)
* Nissan Cube 1.8S (1.8 four-cylinder, front-wheel drive, CVT automatic transmission)
* Hyundai Elantra Touring (2.0 four-cylinder, front-wheel drive, automatic transmission)
* Scion xD (1.8 four-cylinder, front-wheel drive, automatic transmission)
* Suzuki SX4 Wagon (2.0 four-cylinder, front-wheel drive, CVT automatic transmission)
* Chevrolet HHR (2.2 four-cylinder, front-wheel drive, automatic transmission)
* Mazda 5 (2.3 four-cylinder, front-wheel drive, automatic transmission)

Which do you like, and why? Are the others you'd include on the list?

A: Personally I am ahuge fan of GM cars,ut in this case I am not so sure I would pick, styleistically, However if you are looking for a car that will run excess of 160,000 miles I would go witht he GM, It is not just that I am an american motorhead this is my real world experience. A friend has a mazda, and that car is quite efficient. The cube however I feel like is a waste of time,it's ugly and small and from wht I have seen can't quite fit as much in it as you would expect. The hyundais are notoriousl for have crappy timing chains that crap out ,this is a costly repair. I would personally Go with either the Scion or Equinox. That is my opinion. Enjoy!

Q: Best Priced, Most Fuel Efficient Crossover ?
We're planning on having a 3rd kid and need a bigger vehicle. I want a crossover (3rd row seating not being a minivan) that is reasonably priced and great on gas. I would like to have a 2009 or 2010, no older. I just can't seem to find anything that is nice. I currently have a 2004 Ford Escape that I bought brand new and the sucker cost me $41,000!!! I was a novice on purchasing vehicles (this is the first and only vehicle I've ever owned). So I have a few problems with purchasing brand new and would prefer a 1 year old used...my car is completely paid for, so I have no payments and love it, so I don't want to spend too much and have huge payments again; and I will not pay that much for a silly vehicle ever again.

I appreciate every ones help.

A: The only high-reliability, fuel-efficient crossover is the Toyota Highlander Hybrid, with an EPA-estimated in-city gas mileage of 27 mpg and on-highway gas mileage of 25 mpg. (Note that most of the gain is experienced in in-city driving.)

The 2010 Auto Reliability GPA of the Toyota Highlander Hybrid is 3.75 over a 4-year data history.

For comparison, here are overall 2010 Auto Reliability GPAs for several brands, in descending order:

Honda: 3.67 (an A)
Toyota: 3.53 (a low A)
Subaru: 2.61 (a low B)
Hyundai: 2.54 (a low B)

Ford: 2.17 (a C)
Nissan: 2.13 (a C)
